How does one overcome a reading slump? It’s been weeks since I could finish a story.. books have always been my happy place but unfortunately life has been kicking my ass.
Also the life I live outside of my fantasy novels has been hectic! My oldest has been officially diagnosed with Autism (level 2) and an underlying intellectual disability that we won’t know more about until he’s older. My youngest is about to turn one this month and I’m having a real hard time coming to terms that I’ll never have another 1st birthday party, or first steps, or first words … It’s alot 😆
My husband’s health is declining again and I’m not sure how to manage it. He got sick about 3 years ago and an infection attacked his CNS (central nervous system) and it has caused lasting effects with muscle weakness and periods of nerve pain that cause him to not be able to walk. I feel like we drown in appointments, including my own… How do people do this ?
I guess my health has been all over the place too, since having my youngest my body has fought me every step of the healing process.
- Post partum pre-eclampsia
- Seizure level blood pressure for months
- C-section healing and 5 months later I had a bilateral salpingectomy ( removed my fallopian tubes )
- My overall health was taking a toll as I was always tired and confused and pp depression had me angry.
Turns out I’m borderline anemic and have low iron, magnesium, and B12.
Did you know that can cause all the following side effects:
- Restlessness
- Insomnia
- Hair loss
- Messes with your teeth
- Consistent headaches
- Stomach pain and/or bowel issues
I sure as hell didn’t know anything and now all my symptoms make sense. It’s was validating but scary knowing my body was sick and telling me and I had no clue.
Thankfully I’m getting better and doing all I need to to fix these issues including therapy and I’m starting to come out the other side !!
Maybe since my health is getting better I’ll start to enjoy reading again !!
Okay end of rant 😆
